I can't even begin to explain how long I've wanted this model. I remember the first time I found it on the internet aaaaages ago, long before I had things like a credit card or an ebay account. Then it sort of drifted out of my sight for a while. Then recently I was browsing the intarwebs and stumbled upon one for sale. I snatched it up as quickly as I could and after returning from Christmas travel got to work on painting and assembling it.
This is the Limited Model Series 011 Alseides, one of three Escaflowne models Bandai produced. It's one of the only Dilandau products I've ever seen. I'm not huge into model building. This is probably the first model I've done in 10 years, but I wanted my own Dilly Guymelef really badly so I did some model research, asked around for advice and dove in.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out. =3 It was painted using Testor's model paints. I really really like the metal flake red. It has that nice automotive paint sparkle to it. About my only real beef is the hideous cloak the poor thing was packaged with. The cloak pictured on the box is the proper deep purple but, as you can see, the actual product is a bit more.. vibrant.
Thanks! I definitely recommend coming up with your own paint choices rather than go with the ones in the booklet. I like the metal flake red and metallic silver much better than the flat red and flat gray they suggested. ^^
Working on this has me fangirling on Escaflowne all over again. I'm considering trying to get my hands on another so I can saw off the horn and paint it like Jajuka and the Dragonslayers' Alseides melefs.
I got the same model some years ago and painted it but mine is poor and simple compared with yours. You did a great work with the painting. [link] Amazed
